Having gained a 1st class BA (Hons) in Community Education, Nicola moved into local government for 5 years where her focus was on local implementation of policy covering the themes of gender, equality and community. For the past 3 years, Nicola has been working for an international children's charity, scaling and sustaining evidence-based interventions across Scotland directly in the home, school/nursery and the community for children living in poverty. Nicola has a particular interest in the poverty related attainment gap and community development/empowerment as well as parental engagement.
