MEGAN BIRMAN
United States - EPPE Cohort 2019-20
Postgraduate Student
Megan has a background in Sociology, Psychology and Criminology where she focused her studies on what creates and maintains social inequalities. Critically assessing the social and institutional influences that contribute to such inequalities fostered an interest in education policy, as Megan began to explore how social issues can be created, maintained or improved through educational systems. This led Megan to her current studies on the MSc Education, Public Policy and Equity programme after which she is eager to put this knowledge and experience into practice in the field of education policy. In particular, Megan's interests lie in the educational influence of gender, race and socioeconomic status.
