Indonesia - EPPE Cohort 2017-18

In 2014, Istiawan graduated with a degree in English Language Teaching from Sampoerna University, Jakarta Indonesia. Following this, he spent 3 years working as an English Coordinator and Teacher at HighScope Indonesia, before continuing to the University of Glasgow to complete the MSc Education, Public Policy and Equity programme. Throughout Masters study and in his ongoing work, Istiawan has particularly focused on issues of education privatisation and marketisation, teacher training and certification and the relationship between the media and education policy.
