HEATH THOMPSON

Heath Thompson is a 2018-19 Rotary Global Scholar from Alabama in the United States. He is a recent graduate of the EPPE programme at the University of Glasgow and currently resides in the UK. Heath is a passionate higher education professional with experience in comparative and international education, student services, and advocacy. Heath earned his bachelor degrees (International Relations and Spanish; Interdisciplinary Studies) from the University of Alabama (UA), where he later worked as an Education Abroad Coordinator. This role exposed him to the equity challenges prevalent in higher education and afforded him the opportunity to promote equitable programming at a range of levels. Heath has extensive experience working with under-served student populations and is interested in how policy can empower these students in accessing and completing higher education. His professional and research interests include higher education advancement and funding, diversity and inclusion, internationalisation, and student mobility.
